So what is the secret free weight loss plan I am following?
There is no such thing as a secret diet. The only secret is that marketing people want to sell you any secret that you don’t know and therefore want to pay for.
The same when it comes to selling the best weight loss program. If their really was 1 best weight loss program out there, we would all know about it, use it and loose weight.
Active weight loss programs stress activity
Weight loss diets are basically quit simple and we all know the concept of diet programs:
what you take in and
what you don’t actively burn,
you store as fat.
- Being active is half the work in loosing weight!
- The other half is following a healthy diet that make sense for you in the long term.
Any mathematical weight loss system fails
The equation above that " fat = what you eat minus what you burn " is only part of the whole holistic diet approach.
You need to know why your body is storing all this fat in the first place.
Your body is always preparing itself for "worse days to come".
In the beginning of human kind, we were hunters or farmers. We all know, when you live in a seasonal climate without supermarkets nor shops: in winter it will be more difficult than in summer to find food, be it both in hunting and farming.
That’s why bears eat as much as they can when food is abundant, and they go in a state of hibernation the rest of the winter.
Now we aren’t bears, but our body acts similar like bears do: in days of food abundance, we store our extra food intake into fat.
In days when food is scarce - that is when we go on a diet - our body goes in alarm mode and tries as hard as it can to get as much nutrition out of the food we are eating.
And now for the part that makes all diets to be doomed: as soon as we overindulge ourselves during a diet, our body says:
ok: in this long dieting period of little food, seems our ‘master’ hit the food jackpot by overindulging in treats: let’s make as much fat as possible from what our master is eating!
Once you have this knowledge, it’s no wonder why again smart marketing people come out with the cookie diets like Dr. Siegal’s cookie diet, Smart for life cookie diet and Hollywood cookie diet.
The smart marketer knows that we all love to indulge in cookies so he bakes a cookie "to control your hunger" and incorporates your need of cookies into a fully fledged diet…
2 problems to follow active weight loss programs
Why is the diet program I was following before not working?
- First it’s difficult to stick to your diet
- secondly, as soon as you deviate from your diet, your body punishes you big time by accumulating as much fat as possibly can.
So how come I am loosing weight these days? Because I rigorously make sure that all the snacks in between my meals are from the Negative calorie diet plan diet list I compiled in my previous post + my breakfast follows the Japanese banana diet : in short: I start my day eating bananas.
A healthy diet with negative calorie snacks means that my body gets no extra food intake to store extra fat, as I don’t give it a chance to do so.
Add to that: action!
I make sure that I am doing my exercises every day, so whatever I eat will be worked off at least a bit.
Of course if you don’t have an office job like me, maybe your daily routine already gives you enough exercise to burn your daily food intake.
Active weight loss programs summarized
- Let your body think there is so much food available that it doesn’t have to store fat.
- Look for a long term weight loss program.
- Be active.
Start eating small meals but eat more than 3 times a day: consider an extra snack not only as a snack but as a real meal.
This makes your body thinking it’s in a period of abundant food so your body has no excuse to optimize it’s fat extraction out of your nutrients.
In other words: a diet that makes you feel hungry doesn’t work. Why? Because when hungry, your body starts optimizing its fat storage.
Eat smart meals: make sure the food you take in doesn’t have much calories to make fat from. When it comes to snacks, negative calorie food is ideal. When you love "cookies", then follow a cookie diet.
The second secret is to keep on following a healthy diet forever, so your body has no excuse to suddenly make extra efforts to make as much fat out of the food you are eating.
This means that along the way you can change your diet a bit according to how you change your lifestyle, but you don’t go back to eating fast food every day.
The third and last aspect that is from outmost importance : do exercise, be active, make sure yo move your body. That’s why they call it active weight loss programs.
